I cannot start a blog without showing massive respect to Startup Croydon which is a fantastic charity which I stumbled across when looking for inspiration to start a firewood processing business. I attended one of their 3-day Business Bootcamp courses back in January 2022 and never looked back as it gave me an overview of all the elements required to run a business.
I thoroughly enjoyed the intensive 3-day Business Bootcamp which was run by the energetic CEO Saffron Saunders, yep you heard me right leading from the front was Startup Croydon’s CEO who delivered a fun, information packed business blitz course. I was immensely pleased when I was invited by the team at Startup Croydon to participate in their much coveted 3-month workshop Business Incubator course which goes into much more detail and covers all aspects of preparing an effective Business Plan, Identifying Customers Finance and Budgets and so much more.
Be under no allusion this is a course for those who are truly committed to fulfil their ambitions to start, develop and run their own business and are willing to put in the work that the course requires and the Startup Croydon Team deserve for all of their hard work and enthusiasm that they share with all of their candidates.
The course is comprised of various modules covered weekly from structuring an effective business plan, marketing, finance, sole trader, partnerships, social enterprises or limited companies, effective use of social media and so much more. The course was run by the extremely knowledgeable and chilled out Geoff Ranson, Startup Croydon’s Project Manager with the support of the rest of the team.
There were numerous guest speakers who all volunteered their time to give us their specialist information ranging from an accountant, social media guru and a previous prize winner of the Business Incubator course, prize I hear you say, yep there is also a prize for the best presentation and business plan at the end of the course.
